Over the past two and a half decades, The Daniels Corporation has emerged as one of Canada’s preeminent builder-developers, with a reputation for quality and integrity in all forms of residential communities. Company founder and CEO John Daniels has been a leader in the North American building industry for the past 50 years. As Chairman of The Cadillac Fairview Development Corporation, Daniels was instrumental in the creation of such landmarks as Toronto’s Eaton Centre and the Toronto-Dominion Centre. He was also the moving force behind the 'New Town' of Erin Mills, the largest planned community in North America, before founding The Daniels Corporation in 1982.

Since then, under the direction of President Mitchell Cohen, and a dynamic management team, the company has developed and built over 20,000 homes and apartments in a diverse range of award-winning communities. Daniels has received numerous industry awards including the prestigious Ernest Assaly 2003 Highrise Builder of the Year Award by the Tarion Warranty Corporation. This pinnacle award is in recognition of exceptional customer service and excellence in the new home building industry.

In addition to being named first recipient of the coveted Home Builder of the Year Award by the Greater Toronto Home Builders’ Association, other accolades have been garnered by the communities themselves. Daniels’ skyline enhancing NY Towers community at Bayview and Sheppard Avenues, for example, was named Community of the Year by the GTHBA.The four art-deco inspired towers have now been joined by two additional towers, Empire and Rockefeller on Bayview. More recently Daniels has built two new landmark properties in the Bayview and Sheppard area with the Arc and Le Merci condominiums.

In Mississauga, Daniels is followed up its success at No. 1 City Centre with the launch of the largest master-planned condominium community in Mississauga’s history. The Capital Condominiums and One Park tower have become the most significant landmark buildings on the Mississauga skyline. Daniels will continue to shape this skyline with a new project currently under construction, The Chicago.

Daniels was the first major developer to build rental housing in over 20 years through its innovative Gateway Communities program in which tenants earn $200/month towards the purchase of a new Daniels home. The company has also built an enviable portfolio of state-of-the-art retirement residences in a continuing joint venture with Amica Mature Lifestyles.

Since its inception the company has consistently played a leadership role in corporate responsibility, supporting a wide range of charitable organizations providing food, clothing and shelter, including an ongoing role as Presenting Sponsor of Toronto Taste, Second Harvest’s annual gala fundraising event, and the annual GTAA Food Drive.
